WHO WE ARE

Kitchen Unleashed emerged from hundreds of conversations within the St. Cloud community.  For co-founders, Jen and Cece, these conversations took place while working with individuals and families who were facing financial hardships and struggling to meet basic needs. As St. Cloud becomes more diverse, our communities of color continue to face significant challenges in areas such as poverty, education, and employment. Amidst these conversations, they were inspired by the resilience, resourcefulness and grit, as well as the incredible talents they possess.  

 

Food was central to these conversations. Over sambusas and tea, jollof rice, barbecue, or noodles, they began to explore the idea of food entrepreneurship as a pathway to financial prosperity.  Cece, an aspiring food entrepreneur herself, understood the various challenges in starting and growing a food business.  Jen's extensive experience in program and community development taught her the importance of involving community voices. Together, they engaged with small and informal food creators, listened to their challenges and dreams.

Kitchen Unleashed came from a belief in the talents and ambitions of the community.  With the right support and resources, these talents could be nurtured and unleashed, creating lasting opportunities for growth and success!
